Congratulations to all our Wakakirri performers!
Coastal Lakes College has received a National Story Award for Culturally Diversity at the Wakakirri festival.
Our dance, called ‘Ascending at CLC’, celebrated the journey of Coastal Lakes College as an inclusive education school. The performance showed how we recognise the importance of connecting positively with each other and work to accept individuals’ strengths and weaknesses. One member of the judging panel described the performance as “a wonderful celebration of friendship and comradery”.
Wakakirri is Australia’s largest performing arts event for schools, with over 180 schools taking part in 2022. Festival Director, Adam Loxley, said that this year’s performances were “exceptional”. We are incredibly proud of all the hard work our students put in and this incredible achievement!
