An important update from CLC

Coastal Lakes College

We look forward to welcoming our students and all the excitement of day 1 when the College opens on Monday 8 February.

The five-day lockdown for Perth, Peel and the South West ends tonight, 6pm Friday 5 February, however some COVID-safe measures will continue until 12:01am, 14 February, details at WA.gov.au.

For the safety of our students and staff masks will be worn at the College. Students will need to wear masks in public for the next week, including getting to and from school, however, we will have masks available if students arrive without one. Staff will be located at the front gates (next to the Administration building) and will provide a mask to any child who requires one on the first day of school.

Our staff will support students to understand the importance of wearing a mask as we work through this transition together.  We are currently working with our families whose child/ren have established pre-existing medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask.

Additional masks will be made available for students who lose, break or dirty their mask throughout the school day – we will discuss this process with students on the first day of school.  Masks will be required to be worn by students in and outside of classrooms, but not whilst undertaking physical education lessons or eating and drinking at recess and lunch. We shall speak with students about these expectations at the beginning of the day on Monday.

Whilst there may be some impact on assemblies and school activities next week, we are making every effort to ensure that our orientation programs remain in place and that we do everything we can to ensure that the transition to 2021 at Coastal Lakes College is as smooth as possible.  The main thing is that our students are back and ready for learning.

We want to assure you that the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is our top priority and we will continue to follow the latest WA Health advice at ww2.healthywa.gov.au . A number of the safety measures introduced last year, including increased cleaning, and having access to hand sanitiser in every classroom have remained in place.

Thank you to all students and parents for your understanding and support over the past week and for your continued understanding as we navigate these changes together.
