CLC Students Impress Judges in Young Originals Competition

7 September 2021

The Young Originals exhibition promotes excellence in the visual arts across a range of mediums.

This year three students from our Year 9 Photography class were selected as finalists in the first round of judging.

Ms Inwood, who teaches Year 9 Photography was impressed by the level of skill students showed “the calibre of photography works produced by our Year 9 students was outstanding, especially considering this was the first time any of these students had used a DSLR camera. I am thrilled to have my students work selected for exhibition”.

In the final round of judging, artwork from two of our students, Elena and Paris were selected to be showcased in the 2021 exhibition.

Jane was also invited to contribute to the Young Originals launch video titled ‘Celebrating Creativity’ discussing her views on the importance of art in the world.

“We are very impressed with the quality of students work and the way in which students have demonstrated our College values of imagine, believe, inspire and achieve.” said Kya Graves, our Foundation Principal.

These works, along with the compilation video can be viewed online at https://youngoriginals.com.au from 8 September 2021.

The exhibition is run by the Department of Education, in partnership with the Western Australian Secondary School Executives Association (Inc.), the Sangora Education Foundation and Edith Cowan University School of Arts and Humanities and is open to aspiring young artists in Years 7-12.
