Our technologies focus is part of who we are at Coastal Lakes College. It encompasses the hard and soft skills students require in order to succeed at school and beyond. These skills are embedded in every area of the curriculum across our college.
Our approach means that we can cater to a wide variety of interests, and students have a choice in how they participate.
STEM is taught across our school, in all our subjects. We also have particular focus areas, after-school clubs and specialist programs that allow students to delve deeper into various areas of interest. This helps to ensure that all students can get involved and find something that they enjoy, whilst developing these fundamental skills.
Two key areas of focus are drones and submersibles.
Our technologies focus encompasses the skills learnt in science, maths, technology and engineering.
It brings alive the soft skills of STEM; problem solving, creativity, critical analysis, teamwork, independent thinking, initiative, communication and digital literacy.
Our technologies focus is guided by our students; their skills, interests, ideas and aspirations. This, coupled with our state-of-the-art facilities and our access to the latest technology, makes us a great choice for students interested in expanding their STEM skills.
