Who will win the Coastal Lakes College Shield?

Today we announced the second phase of our Coastal Lakes College House System, which includes regular House Assemblies and the launch of a new points system.

Each week teachers will have 100 House Points to give to students who demonstrate the CLC values, participate to the best of their ability or go above and beyond for someone.

Each student will receive points that could win them individual prizes. Points will also contribute to House Points.

We also launched the Coastal Lakes Shield, a friendly competition each term between the Houses in a range of different events.

The events for this term include a spelling bee, a mental maths quiz, a HaSS quiz and a Science quiz. Students win points for participating in each of the events and can win extra points and prizes by winning an event.

Students who represent CLC at the various interschool events and demonstrate pride in our College will also win points for their Houses.

“The CLC House system is a fundamental part of building pride in our College. The sense of camaraderie that our House System will develop is imperative in driving whole-school culture and identity within our student cohort” says Bianca Romagnolo, our Manager of Operations.

The CLC House System is a whole-school initiative that will involve activities, competitions, and assemblies to positively support our students and build our school culture.  It works alongside, and in support of, our Positive Support programs and Good Standing processes.

The House System is designed to be inclusive for all students by including sporting, academic and artistic endeavours.

The question on everyone’s lips is who will win the shield for the first time and go down in CLC history? Will it be the Analysts, the Diplomats, the Explorers, or will the Sentinels reign supreme?
