Year 7 Students Throw Coloured Powder to Build Emotional Intelligence

IZRA Workshop - two men presenting workshop

On Friday the 20th of March, our Year 7 students participated in a resilience workshop lead by IZRA – a group who talk in schools about how to be resilient and use the challenges we face to make us stronger.

The creative presentation uses coloured powder thrown onto a white shirt to illustrate the different experiences we have in life and how they mark us.

The interactive workshop which focused on building students’ emotional intelligence, self-awareness and empathy is an important part of our social and emotional learning program at Coastal Lakes College.

“We know that all students have all of these talents, ideas, passions and personalities inside of them and we want to be the ones who help the students achieve it”, says CLC’s Manager of Positive Support, Clare Mowat.
