Coastal Lakes College has a compulsory college uniform. The College Executive in consultation with the community felt it was important to have a formal uniform, which did not have many variations and would remain the same through to Year 12.
A uniform contributes to our core College values including building pride in our students and pride in our College. Our aim is to prepare students for life beyond college and future employers often have similar values and expectations. When parents and students enrol with Coastal Lakes College a commitment is made to support the uniform policy and promote the College’s values!
Most parents prefer the college uniform as it promotes routine and reduces the potential for social issues associated with appearance.

The Coastal Lakes College Enrolment Policy is aligned with the Department of Education Western Australia’s Enrolment Policy. Parents seeking further information about enrolling a child in a Western Australian school should refer to the policy.
https://www.education.wa.edu.au/enrolling-in-school
Coastal Lakes College is a local-intake area school and therefore, in the first instance, must ensure that all local students can be accommodated. As a new school the college must plan ahead to ensure that there will be sufficient accommodation in the future.
The assessment of a school’s capacity to accommodate students will take into consideration the school’s current and future resources including infrastructure, timetable, programs and staffing.
The local-intake area is defined by a boundary. If you live within the local-intake area for Coastal Lakes College you are guaranteed a place.
Enrolment at a school in the primary years does not guarantee future enrolment at a specific secondary school including one in the vicinity of the primary school.
The parent or legal guardian is required to provide satisfactory evidence to demonstrate eligibility for local-intake area enrolment.
All students seeking enrolment for the commencement of the following year, whether local or out of local-intake area, should apply by the first Friday of Term 3 each year or when stipulated by the college.
Applications for local-intake area enrolments during a current year may be submitted at any time.
Students are required to bring stationery and other personal items to school each day to enable them to interact in classes. Ziggies Educational Supplies are able to provide families with a convenient solution to buying personal items for school. Please note you are able to source these items from any supplier. If a brand is specified, please consider purchasing the particular item due to the brand’s quality and ability to complete the task. For example, an Artline Fineliner Pen, or UHU glue.
Personal Items Lists will be provided to parents before 1 December each year. Ziggies have an online portal to purchase these items. Home delivery is available as well as collecting from the College; the collection date will be advised on the booklist. You can also visit the Ziggies store, located at 1/180 Bannister Road, Canning Vale.
Students should come to College with a note in their diary with the date, time and reason for leaving school grounds. They can show this to their teacher to be excused from class, they need to go to Student Services and sign out. Students may then leave school grounds. If a note is not provided in the school diary, a phone call to Student Services is required. Students are not allowed to leave grounds without permission from a parent/guardian.
